Question: How long will it take me to become a
pilot? Answer: This depends on how
much time you invest into your flight training. A Private Pilot license can be
obtained in as little as a month, however the average time is 3 to 4
months. |
Question: How many hours of flying are
required? Answer: The Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) requires a minimum of 40 flight hours under Part 61. The
average flight time for completion is 50 to 55 flight hours. |
Question: How long will it take before I can fly alone?
Answer: Student pilots are usually signed off
for solo flight between 10 to 15 flight hours. |
Question: What are the medical requirements?
Answer: You must obtain a
medical certificate in order to solo an aircraft. Medical doctors are
designated by the Federal Aviation Administration to perform these physicals.

Question: How old do I have to be to fly? Answer: By FAA regulations you must be 16 years old to solo an
aircraft and 17 years old to obtain a Private Pilot License. However, there is
no age restriction on flight training. |
Question: Do I have to take any written exams?
Answer: In order to obtain a
Private Pilot License you must complete a FAA written exam. Most licenses and
ratings will require passing a written exam. |
Question: Do you offer ground school? Answer: Ground school can be done two ways. First, you can
attend our Lee College program where you will receive all the ground needed.
Secondly, you can receive ground school through a combination of home study and
one-on-one with your flight instructor. |
Question: How often should I fly? Answer: We suggest that you fly at least 2 times a week. The
more you fly the faster and cheaper your flight training will be. If you are
not able to fly this often we will work with your schedule to ensure you
receive the most effective and efficient flight training. |
